It's been an AI-heavy year for Microsoft, following the explosive launch of Bing's ChatGPT-powered AI chat. Today, Microsoft has even more AI news to drop alongside its annual refresh of Surface PCs. While the hype may have been low, we were expecting to see some new hardware today. The company demoed the Surface Laptop Studio 2 and Surface Laptop Go 3, with the Studio 2 outpacing Apple's MacBook Pro in a 3D rendering test. While we'd hoped to see the Surface Pro get some love, Microsoft did mention it on stage.

Surface Studio Laptop 2 performance vs M2 Max MBP

An MS rep is rendering a Blender model across the new Laptop Studio 2 and a MacBook Pro with M2 Max. Laptop Studio finishes in 37 seconds, the MacBook is still going 1 minute later.
MS says it has up to twice the graphics performance of the MacBook Pro with an M2 Max chip.
